The head of the radiation, chemical, and biological defense forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, stated that the West is planning to fabricate evidence of Russia’s use of chemical weapons and make corresponding accusations against Moscow.
» The U.S. and Germany, together with Ukraine and the Technical Secretariat of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), are preparing to launch a special mission to investigate the so-called incidents of chemical weapons use in Ukraine with the aim of accusing Russia,» according to the military’s words in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation’s Telegram channel.
Kirillov revealed that one of the so-called independent countries proposed initiating an investigation and fabricating evidence that the Russian Armed Forces used poisonous chemicals during a special operation. The United States has allocated about $400,000 for these purposes, he noted.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has information that Ukraine has signed an agreement with the Technical Secretariat of the OPCW on «Privileges and Immunities during Visits for Technical Assistance,» which will allow Kiev to involve the organization «in its interests by bypassing existing Convention procedures, imposing their deliberately false conclusions on investigations into chemical incidents,» the military explained.
Furthermore, Kirillov mentioned that the OPCW has received instructions from its Western curators not to respond to Russia’s statements about Ukraine’s violations of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
Earlier, Kirillov reported that Russian military personnel discovered a laboratory with chemical equipment in one of the settlements near Avdiivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. It was found that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were involved in the production of toxic substances in it, according to experts.
